BCSI club of Business Department is organizing a twin virtual event: Green Recovery Challenge and Business Cases for Sustainability.
Green Recovery Challenge
The UAE joins the EU, UK, Norway, the US and several other countries in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. For the UAE economy, this means an investment of AED 600 billion in clean and renewable energy. Green recovery challenge is organized for Macroeconomics students to showcase their research on commitments exhibited by Governments and Multinational Companies across the globe to achieve the net-zero emissions goal while recovering from the recession triggered by the COVID 19 Pandemic. There will be environmental economists and academicians from other universities to groom the Economists of future.
Business Cases for Sustainability
The UAE has worked on waste treatment projects to reduce the number of landfills in the country in line with the targets of the National Agenda 2021 to reach 75% treatment of municipal solid waste. Integrated waste management is considered one of the UAE’s main strategic goals. Students from Operations management Course will present their research reports on how businesses in UAE are bank on sustainability principles in achieving operational efficiency while driving up revenues in a post-pandemic world.
